Vanco US Announces Rapid Deployment Services for Mobile and Satellite Connections

Vanco US announced today the availability of its new Rapid Deployment Services in the US for Mobile and Satellite Connections. Vanco's Rapid Deployment Services provide rapid, flexible and cost effective connectivity to allow temporary business sites to connect quickly for a project in hard to reach locations.
According to Ted Raffetto, President of Vanco US, "Installing network services at a new site more often than not involves long lead times. However, not all businesses can wait months to get a fixed line network connection. Current technologies provide two-way satellite-based solutions enabling corporate applications, broadcasting, interactive broadband IP and internet access."
For Rapid Deployment Service there are basically two connectivity options available:
1) Option 1- Rapid Deployment Service using a cost effective shared internet connection via Satellite (VSAT)
There are several bandwidth options available. Download speeds start at 256kbit/s and go up to 2Mbit/s. Upload speed starts at 128kbps and extends to 1Mpbs. Depending on the organization's requirements, download and upload speeds can be chosen independently with bandwidth charged at a fixed price per month.
One of the biggest benefits of VSAT is coverage. Most parts of the world have some form of VSAT service, and Vanco has relationships with all major satellite providers to maximize coverage. The limiting factor is usually the local site environment. For example, a retail location in a shopping center may not easily be able to take advantage of VSAT services due to the difficulties in working with the building management company and getting permission to install the VSAT equipment.
The hardware at each remote site will comprise a satellite dish with modem and managed VPN router. In order to provide a cost effective solution shared internet bandwidth can be utilized. All traffic across this shared link is encrypted for security. Vanco provides a managed service including next business day on-site maintenance.
2) Option 2- Rapid Deployment Service using a 3g/HSDPA compatible router
Vanco also provides rapid and flexible connectivity to new or remoter sites using the latest 3G and HSDPA technology. Vanco has relationships with a wide range of mobile data and equipment suppliers to provide a fully flexible wireless service for situations where fixed line connectivity is either not possible or on a long lead time.
With downloads speeds of up to 1.8Mb/s HSDPA technology provides data connections speed comparable with many fixed line services. Where HSDPA is not yet available, the equipment will automatically search for 3G (UMTS), EDGE of GPRS to ensure that connectivity can still be obtained. Data on connections speeds is collected by Vanco and can be reported on. Available line speeds on standard 3G networks are 384kbit/s download and 64kbit/s upload.
Vanco's Rapid Deployment Service offers customers the ability to connect to branch or remote sites flexibly and quickly. This could be in advance or even instead of fixed network connectivity services being available.
