Facebook Founder Sued By Former Classmates

July 27, 2007

A federal judge says the founders of ConnectU.com have just two weeks to persuade him not to throw out their case against rival Facebook.com.

Identical twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are suing a former Harvard classmate, Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg, for allegedly stealing their idea for a networking Web site focused on the Harvard community, The Boston Herald said.

U.S. District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock said claims that the twins had an oral contract with Zuckerberg to make their Harvard Connection site a reality in return for 25 percent of the profits are gossamer thin.

Dorm room chit-chat does not make a contract, Woodlock said. A vague contract is no contract at all.
