Tech Data U.S. Gears Up for Federal Buying Season With Government Integration Services

July 30, 2007

Expanding its TechEDG government services, Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) today announced its new Government Integration Services team. Resellers leveraging these services can more efficiently and profitably fulfill a wide range of government contracts, including large, multiple-site solutions deployments and installations for agencies such as NASA and the departments of Defense and Homeland Security.

“The federal government represents significant opportunity for resellers, but it is a fiercely competitive market to do business. To best serve our reseller customers selling into this space, it is imperative that Tech Data continually enhances its execution,” said Barb Miller, Tech Data’s vice president, Government, Technical and Integration Services. “Through Government Integration Services, we will provide customers with quick, reliable configuration support, saving them valuable time and money.”

The Government Integration Services team comprises dedicated configuration specialists, backed by TechEDG government services professionals and Tech Data’s extensive technical support staff of systems engineers. These resources, combined with dedicated infrastructure, ensure Tech Data has the additional capacity to provide government resellers with prompt 48-hour turnaround for all solutions heading to federal users. Utilizing Tech Data Government Integration Services enables resellers to drop-ship fully configured solutions to government agencies nationwide, saving time and enabling them to focus resources on on-site installations.

TechEDG will host Government Integration Services webinars to introduce resellers to the benefits of leveraging these services. The Government Integration Services team can efficiently preload and configure one or hundreds of systems, servers, routers or other hardware with the software applications that meet specific end-user requirements. Starting as low as $20 for routers, $35 for systems and $40 for servers, Tech Data can custom configure everything from basic desktops to complex multi-server rack systems. Integration services also accommodate custom bundles and asset tagging.

Tech Data also announced it is the first distributor supporting resellers awarded the SEWP IV NASA contract by marking product shipments with a completed DD250 form. Contract winners not taking advantage of this option, will have to receive all shipments themselves and reship to NASA sites after creating, printing and affixing the proper DD250 documentation.

“The support we receive from Tech Data’s TechEDG team has enabled us to bid on and win large federal government contracts,” said Andrew Cayouette, vice president of sales and marketing, FedStore Corp. “As a service disabled veteran owned small business, we have limited resources. With Tech Data as a partner, we are in a much stronger position to deliver for NASA.”

Enhanced Support for Government Buying Season

“Tech Data is leveraging our extensive resources and capabilities to help our customers effectively and profitably capitalize on government IT spending,” said Joe Quaglia, Tech Data’s vice president, East and Government Sales. “We’re extending hours, providing credit uplifts to qualified government resellers, ensuring optimum product availability and enhancing our ability to deliver a wide range of IT solutions.”
