York Telecom Expands Service Delivery Center to Include Telepresence

Posted on: Tuesday, 31 July 2007, 12:03 CDT

For the past ten years, York Telecom has provided mission critical Video Network Operational Center (VNOC) services for major enterprise clients including "Managed Services" components such as scheduling, meet & greet, call launching, pro-active monitoring and maintaining client VIP programs. York Telecom's systematic VNOC approach to Total Managed Conferencing Services (TMCS)(TM) programs has raised the industry bar for maintaining higher results with Service Level Agreements, and exceeding all aspects of expectations for in-call support.

Effective July 1st, 2007, York Telecom's VNOC capabilities have been expanded to support the customized engineering requirements required for Telepresence offerings. Using the same mission critical mentality learned through twenty-five years of conferencing support, and applying the same engineering methodology of development of standard operating procedures and practicing documented process control, York Telecom now offers support for Telepresence reservations, call launching, in-call support, and pro-active monitoring; all factors that are required for creating the true immersion experience.

The unique nature of Telepresence carries challenges of bridging multiple high-end codecs within specific rooms, and managing higher margins of bandwidth for both effectiveness and cost. York's long-term heritage with network carriers and its experiences in bridge management for large enterprises uniquely qualifies York Telecom's Service Delivery Center to take on these unique challenges.

York's Telepresence offerings include management of Telepresence bridges on a client premises, as well as imbedded within carrier network nodes, to help clients minimize the impact of the bandwidth requirements, as well as maintain the high reliability required for this high-end executive service.

"Adding telepresence to its turnkey managed service offering expands York Telecom's coverage to include videoconferencing deployments ranging from the desktop to high-end executive suites," explains Ira Weinstein, Partner at Wainhouse Research. "As telepresence deployments within the enterprise expand, so will the need for qualified partners to manage those systems. York Telecom is well positioned to fulfill that demand."

"We are proud to elevate our VNOC services into the Telepresence marketplace," said Ken Scaturro, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development. "This service has high visibility and strong interest within our client base, and we can look forward to supporting the unique bridging requirements of Telepresence offerings. We can continue to provide high-end solutions to large enterprise and government customers through this new VNOC capability."
