NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 2003--
A complete product suite of indoor and outdoor high-density
cabinets ideal for Fiber-To-The-"X" applications
FONS Corporation, a leading provider of fiber connectivity products and solutions, has broadened and enhanced its CPE product offering in support of high-density applications. In addition, FONS has introduced its new family of Outside Plant (OSP) enclosures, a natural extension to the company's portfolio. FONS' enhanced CPE products and OSP product offering will be showcased at the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC) 2003 in Orlando, Florida, September 8-10 in FONS' booth no. 1303.
The company's new NEMA-12 rated TICE-series wall mount cabinets provide for increased protection from indoor contaminants and accommodate up to 144 fibers in a range of cabinet sizes. These cabinets feature a dual hinged design to ensure separation of owner/client network segments and maximize wall space utilization for both splicing and interconnection. The new MDC-series wall or rack mount cabinets accommodate up to 216 fibers and offer a unique design that provides the flexibility to configure the enclosures for either single or dual access applications. Both the TICE and MDC series products can also accommodate optical component modules allowing the units to house splitters, WDMS, filters and other optical components.
FONS' newly released OSP enclosures accommodate up to 216 fibers within a single or dual access cabinet and offer a variety of mounting arrangements including wall, pole or pedestal mount options. These NEMA-4 rated cabinets feature lightweight, heavy gauge aluminum welded construction for protection against harsh outdoor elements required to support outside plant environments. "Given our substantial expertise in fiber connectivity, management and optical component packaging, expanding our offering to include outside plant (OSP) and other FTTX products represents a natural product line extension," states Michael J. Noonan, President and CEO. "The addition of an OSP product offering further strengthens FONS position to serve the emerging access markets such as FTTH," continues Mr. Noonan.
All FONS products are available with Telcordia certified GR-326 connectors and cable assemblies. These pre-terminated products provide the highest quality termination solutions possible. These connectorized products are a by-product of continuous technical improvements and manufacturing excellence. For more information on FONS' connectorized products, visit FONS' booth no. 1303 at NFOEC, or attend NFOEC technical session #2, Tuesday at 1:30 for a presentation on "Continuous Improvement in Fiber Optic Cable Assembly."
