Infoscore Software Service GmbH Transforms 3+ Million-Line Forte Application
Posted on: Monday, 6 August 2007, 09:18 CDT
Infoscore Software Service GmbH, a developer of payment and other back-office financial processing software, announced that it has deployed the COSIMA server-side application, which was converted by using SoftSol Resources' Forté migration tools and services. The COSIMA application was converted from 2 million lines of Forté 4GL code to Java/J2EE.
SoftSol has also been awarded the contract by Infoscore to convert their 1 million lines of GUI code to Java/ J2EE. The high efficiency of SoftSol's tools and maintainability of the code were key factors that determined the selection of SoftSol.
The COSIMA application is an automated debt-collection system processing 40,000 transactions per day for over 7 million accounts. It handles debt collection, claims management, and other administrative functions for Infoscore Software Service on a 7x24 basis.
"SoftSol has been very flexible in meeting our requirements and goals for this project. We are very happy to continue working with them on the next phase of the conversion," said Angelo Bonasera, CIO of Infoscore Software Service GmbH.
The original system had been built using Forté Software's 4GL, which is no longer supported by Sun Microsystems. Infoscore needed to modernize the system to a technology base that could be extended on an ongoing basis.
"Winning the trust and business of Infoscore Software Service was important for expanding our services in Europe. SoftSol offers its services to European clients through our company Napier GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany," said Srini Madala, CEO of SoftSol Resources.
