Beyonce Tops Lycos Search List

Web surfers apparently can't get enough of video footage showing singer Beyonce Knowles tripping on a stage in Orlando.

Lycos, the Massachusetts Internet search engine, said Knowles topped its list of terms people looked for the week ending Aug. 4.

The week's other most popular terms were MySpace, YouTube, Pokemon, Naruto, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Disney, Clay Aiken and WWE.

Lycos said Web users appeared to be tiring of Lindsay Lohan's antics, as search interest for the actress dropped 54 percent over the previous week.

Disney jumped to No. 8 from the No. 11 spot the previous week, as teens the world over await the premiere of High School Musical 2 on the Disney Channel Aug. 17.

Searches for High School Musical 2 have increased 180 percent since the first week in June and searches for star Zac Efron have jumped 95 percent, Lycos said.

Efron generated 203 percent more search activity than the movie's second most popular star, Ashley Tisdale.

Other popular topics people were researching on the Web last week include, The Bourne Ultimatum, Ugly Betty, Mary Louise Parker, Corey Haim and the South Beach Diet.
