Posted on: Thursday, 9 August 2007, 15:02 CDT

World Energy Television airs "The Balancing Act: Leveraging Current Technology vs. Exploiting Emerging Technologies." In response to important questions regarding technology and leadership issues in the industry, CEOs offer candid opinions and illuminating responses. View the TV show online at http://www.worldenergysource.com/wetv, or watch Thursday, August 16 at 9 p.m. on cable channel 17 on the Comcast network.

Roger Smith hosts a thorough discussion covering every aspect of technology and its deployment. Matt Simmons of Simmons and Company International is joined by his peers, including Mike Bahorich of Apache, Bruce Crager of INTEC Engineering, Tom Fry of the National Ocean Industries Association, John Gibson of Paradigm, Neville Henry of Buccaneer Resources and Andy Willis of Protiviti to debate what exactly is happening in technology, converse on overcoming risk aversion and discuss the corporate and political policies that affect deployment. Each shares his thoughts on what the biggest challenge in technology is today.

Viewers gain valuable insight as practical experience and good business theory are exchanged in candid dialogue. "There is no doubt that this is the most technologically advanced industry on the planet," says Executive Producer Richard Loomis, "but with rising commodity prices and ever-greater technological challenges, we need to get over our fear and aversion to risk so we can develop new technologies and deploy them. This program digs into this important issue."
