Quark Takes Desktop Publishing to the Valley

Privately held desktop publishing software vendor Quark said it is opening a new office in Silicon Valley in the third quarter, which will house sales, customer support and product developers.
Quark - which in recent years has faced stiff competition from Adobe's Creative Suite of design and graphics applications in general and Adobe's InDesign Quark XPress competitor specifically - said it hopes the new office in Santa Clara will help attract top talent. Rival Adobe's headquarters are in San Jose, California.
Quark also said it is expanding its presence in the Latin American, Asian, Eastern European, Benelux and Russian markets. Quark's HQ is in Denver.
