Corning Announces Activation of San Jose Corning Connected Community; Mariani Square is the First Active Corning Connected Community in San Jose, Calif.

Corning Cable Systems, PAXIO, Inc. and Pulte Homes California announce the activation of Mariani Square in San Jose, Calif., as the first Corning Connected Community in San Jose, and the second active Corning Connected Community overall.

As a Corning Connected Community, residents of Mariani Square have access to the virtually unlimited bandwidth and reliability available through a fiber optic connection. Residents can take advantage of activities such as online gaming, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and telecommuting without concern. Mariani Square, set in the midst of downtown San Jose, is being built by Pulte Homes.

Corning Cable Systems developed the Corning Connected Community(TM) Program to bring the benefits of optical fiber to homeowners everywhere by assisting homebuilders and community developers in building fiber optic infrastructure into their plans. Pulte Homes, the charter member of the program, selected PAXIO to design, install and service their fiber networks in the San Francisco Bay Area.
