Largest Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference Opens in San Jose

Posted on: Monday, 20 August 2007, 18:03 CDT

Search industry gurus and marketers from around the globe are gathered to kick off the Search Engine Strategies (SES) Conference & Expo 2007 (see www.SESSanJose.com). Running August 20-23, 2007, at the San Jose Convention Center, SES San Jose is one of the largest ever with several thousand attendees intent on gleaning the latest insights on search engine marketing, search advertising and a plethora of related topics.

Each year marketers from novice to advanced get together to learn from search industry experts as well as representatives from top search engines themselves. This year features keynote addresses from Ask.com and Google executives. On Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at 9:00 am, Ask.com CEO Jim Lanzone will discuss the launch of Ask.com's new Ask3D interface and the challenges they face luring searchers away from their more trafficked peers. On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 9:00 am, Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products & User Experience at Google, will share insights into Google's moves in search, including recent changes to add more personalized and "universal" search results.

At Search Engine Strategies San Jose, attendees participate in engaging sessions broken out into specialized tracks for Beginners, Search, Organic Search, Social Media, Advertising and others. With more than 70 sessions for novice, intermediate and advanced search engine marketing professionals, SES San Jose provides a unique, lively forum for those intent on gaining knowledge in the burgeoning search industry to further career development, network and grow their businesses. This year's event features dozens of four-star rated sessions--evaluated as good or excellent by previous attendees--as well as many fresh new topics.

"In this ever-changing search industry, there's always so much more to learn as strategies and technologies evolve," said Matt McGowan, vice president of marketing for SES and Search Engine Watch. "Year after year, people return to SES because it's a dynamic show where their peers alongside industry experts help keep them informed of the latest developments in the field."
