Anue Systems Launches Advanced Gigabit Ethernet / IP Network Emulator; GEL2 Product Simulates Layers 1, 2 and Higher Network Impairments

Anue Systems, the company that "Delays your Data," today announced its newest product, the Gigabit Ethernet Layer 2+ Network Emulator. Called "GEL2," this Emulator provides the ability to simulate real-world Layer 1 (Physical Layer), Layer 2 (Data Link Layer) and higher layer (Network and Protocol Layer) impairments on optical Gigabit Ethernet traffic.
GEL2 allows a user to inject packet impairments -- such as packet loss, packet jitter and reordering -- as well as packet delays, bit errors and loss of signal conditions into Gigabit Ethernet data that is being transmitted over optical fiber. These impairments can be changed within a few milliseconds and without any loss of data. GEL2 supports full line rate regardless of packet size, and is designed to be used "in line" between two network endpoints to simulate a long distance IP network.
"Although GEL2 has many advanced features, it is extremely easy to use, like all of our other Network Emulators," explained Kevin Przybocki, Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Anue Systems. "With this box, you can select exactly which packets you want to modify based on the header information like destination address, and then you can drop them, jitter them, corrupt them, duplicate them, or just about anything else you can think of that might happen on a real network. And in addition to all this, it can emulate 100,000 kilometers of distance."
