Ukash, the Financial Services Authority-accredited UK-based company that introduced cash payments to global online transactions, has increased the maximum value of a single value from GBP100 to GBP499, which can be purchased at PayPoint terminals in the UK.

“The GBP499 voucher value will bring greater convenience to our customers currently using Ukash to shop, play and pay online, improving the consumer purchasing experience, and making it easier to buy higher value goods and services online,” said Mark Chirnside, Ukash CEO.

Mr Chirnside added that the availability of the GBP499 voucher will also be attractive to internet retailers as they can capitalize on the millions of UK consumers who are currently excluded from shopping online as they do not use credit or debit cards.

Like all Ukash, the new higher limit Ukash voucher does not have to be used all at once, as change in the form of a new voucher is given for any unspent portion. A set of free ‘tools’ at the Ukash website make it easy to combine smaller value Ukash into a single, higher-value voucher, or to split a voucher into a number of smaller-value vouchers, or to convert a voucher’s currency.

“The launch of the new GBP499 voucher is another important milestone for Ukash, extending choice whilst remaining free of charge to the consumer,” concluded Mr Chirnside.
