Ballard’s Work on the Web

Exploration work in the Black Sea conducted by Robert Ballard, president of the Institute for Exploration at Mystic Aquarium and a professor of oceanography at the University of Rhode Island, may be viewed on the Immersion Presents Web site, www.immersionpresents.org, beginning tomorrow.

Each day at noon, through Aug. 26, Immersion Presents, a division of the Sea Research Foundation, is producing short shows from the sites of two shipwrecks, off the coasts of Turkey and the Ukraine.

The shows may be viewed live or as an archive; they will feature expedition researchers and chronicle the exploration of the wrecks.

Viewers will also be able to e-mail questions to the scientists, watch live streaming video from a variety of cameras, and listen to audio from the crew.
