Visual Sciences Upgrades Marketing Search Tool

August 28, 2007

Web analytics provider Visual Sciences has released a new streamlined version of its site search software that offers rapid deployment for online retailers and e-commerce web sites.

The company’s new on-demand Search 5.0 offering now comes with so-called “fast track” configuration deployment capabilities that standardize workflows and presentation templates.

Other new features included in the search engine include geographic searching, targeted presentations, enhanced keyword reporting, and context-aware presentation of related content or product information in search results.

San Diego-based Visual Science, which recently changed its name from WebSideStory, has also added a new “personalized alerts” feature that allows Website visitors to get email notifications if new content or product information that matches their interests is posted on the site.

Search 2.0 is part of Visual Sciences’ VisualSite suite of tools into which it has integrated ad campaign tracking and analysis. The company also recently upgraded its keyword bid-management tool, Bid 2.0, earlier this month as well, allowing it to tap into Yahoo’s search engine marketing platform, in addition to Google’s AdWords platform.

Visual Sciences reported a net loss of $200,000 on revenue of $19.7m in its recently closed second-quarter.
