A SALTBURN business is helping people cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life after launching a mind, body and spirit network.

Be All You Can, a shop specialising in products linked to wellbeing, has been established by Sue Anderson and Bernie Parks.

The outlet, which offers a range of items such as personal development books and CDs, crystals and aromatherapy oils, was set up to complement the duo’s consultancy business, Parks Anderson Enterprises, which sparked the idea to diversify.

“Through our consultancy venture we realised that there was an opportunity to make the link with mind, body and spirit as people are often looking for alternative ways of dealing with stresses and situations, both on a business and personal level,” said Sue.

“Our aim is to help people to make the most of all aspects of their lives, hence the name Be All You Can.”

Since it launched with support from Business Link, Be All You Can has attracted clients from across the area.

After working with a number of specialists, Sue and Bernie realised there was an opportunity to set up a network for those who wanted to share their interests and ideas with like-minded people.

“We have a number of therapists and other sole traders coming into the shop who often work in isolation, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to be able to offer them a network of support,” Bernie said.

The mind, body and spirit network, recently held its first event and will now meet on a bi-monthly basis, with specialist workshops taking place in between.

Meetings and workshops will explore crystal healing, Zen, colour and auras and assorted therapies.

Sue and Bernie have already attracted a database of more than 150 people.

Business Link account manager, Gillian Baker, provided help with accounts and stock control, assistance with a new web site and launch and marketing advice.

She said: “Sue and Bernie are an inspiration. They have consistently demonstrated enthusiasm, drive and commitment to their business idea.

“I have no doubt that their innovative approach will prove a major success for the shop and the network.”

Future plans for Be All You Can include launching house parties, online sales and expanding events and fairs.
