Sep. 2–The 4th of July fireworks were nothing compared with last week’s exploding of the West Side’s old Brach’s Candy building for the “Batman Begins” sequel, “The Dark Knight.”

It blowed up real good, as they used to say on “SCTV.”

The footage, shot from several angles, was all over the Internet, prompting oohs and aahs on various message boards. The video on the Tribune’s Web site netted 14,143 views as of Friday afternoon.

I guess it’s official: We once again think exploding buildings are entertaining.
