Bonus.com (http://www.bonus.com), the emerging Interactive Entertainment site for parents and kids, has re-launched to bring parents and kids together in a safe, entertaining and creative playground where they can play side-by-side and multi-player casual games, design web comics and avatars, and socially connect with each other through their personal computers.
"Bonus.com provides both entertaining and interactive content that parents and kids can use to connect with each other," said Satoshi Okano, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Bonus.com. "The new Bonus.com is enhancing the experience of connecting parents and kids through original content that relates to both audiences. All ages can interact, play games, make comics and enjoy time hanging out with each other via Bonus.com's new site."
Okano adds, "First launched in 1996, Bonus.com is capitalizing on lessons learned from more than 10 years in the kid's online business. Today's announcement is the first iteration of an evolving strategy to add sharing and connectivity to the site, and expands our focus beyond kids to include family and friends."
New site features include:
-- The Multiplex - allows visitors to view streaming video clips, trailers, etc. from a variety of entertainment formats including movies, TV shows, games and music with customized expanding information pages. -- Bonster Avatars - lets users create their very own Bonus avatar (or Bonster)! They can choose from a variety of accessories, clothing and bodies to design an avatar that shows off their creativity and style. -- Comic Book Creator and Original Web Comic - gives kids a fun new way to express their own creativity and make unique comics to share with family and friends. The comic book creator helps the user develop and share stories using characters, products, messages and more. We supply the easy to use tools and art and the kids supply the story. The site is also introducing a one-of-a-kind comic series, The Paranormals, about a band of middle-school misfits. Content from the web comic is already being developed into lesson plans and has been adopted by a Palo Alto 6th grade school teacher as part of her education program to advance reading. -- The Fridge - acts as the virtual messaging hub of the site! Players can exchange messages with other players about comics, games, activities or new trailers in the Multiplex. A great way to spread the word! -- Games - features Battlefield 2, Bonus.com's own massive multi-player online game, and Arcanom, an exclusive collector card game that features The Paranormals characters teaming up with one another.
The site is available in three languages: English, Spanish and Hungarian.
