Hey, Hey, It’s a Stock Tip!
British former teen idol Davy Jones has signed on as spokesman for GorillaTrades, a stock-market Web site aimed at baby boomers.
Jones is best-known as lead singer of the 1960s-era boy band, The Monkees, and star of an Emmy Award-winning television comedy by the same name.
Now his image will appear in print and broadcast media advertisements for the GorillaTrades Web site, with TV spots airing first on the Bloomberg Network and CNBC.
The ageless Davy Jones, born in Manchester, England, in 1945, is a perfect match for GorillaTrades’ growing baby boomer clientele, the company said in a statement. Not only are The Monkees/Gorilla monikers a natural combo, Davy’s energetic personality and enthusiasm mirrors the company’s dynamic approach to investing.
GorillaTrades describes itself as a global online subscriber service that provides late-breaking news and professional insight and expertise into the stock market.
