Indigo Corporation to Greatly Expand Coverage Area for SuperTEXT, Its International SMS Service in Japan

Indigo Corporation, in conjunction with its conclusion of comprehensive agreement for worldwide short-message service (SMS) termination with major overseas SMS hub company, is working to expand its available coverage area greatly for its "SuperTEXT" service, which allows mobile users to exchange SMS messages among cell phones with Japan and overseas with reasonable price, and billable through the KDDI Super World Card PLUS TEXT provided by KDDI Corporation.
In addition to the seven countries and two regions (The People's Republic of China, South Korea, the republic of the Philippines, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Brazil, Guam and Saipan) currently available, the first stage of expansion will see connections begin in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Mongolia. As the coverage area expands to eleven countries and two regions. Also there are plans to expand coverage to approximately ten more countries in Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East (Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, among others) before year's end, to further allow customers timely and comfortable communication with their friends and family.

"SuperTEXT" was begun in Japan in 2003 as a pioneering service that allowed all mobile users in Japan such as au by KDDI, NTT DoCoMo, SoftBank Mobile and WILLCOM to communicate with persons living overseas through dedicated e-mail-SMS conversion gateway performing message conversion from e-mail to SMS when the users in Japan send messages abroad, and vice versa. ; it has subsequently been adopted and used by several hundred thousand non-Japanese residents of Japan and Japanese citizens alike as a great way to stay in touch with friends and family overseas.
