Religion Briefs: Barn Revival

Sep. 15–Ascension Church, 741 W. Rogers Blvd., Skiatook, will have its 18th annual barn revival with Kent Mattox and Bobby Conner. Services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday through Sept. 23, with a pastors meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday. A hot dog dinner is set for 6 p.m. Sunday, and a potluck dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 23. Special anniversary: Metropolitan Baptist Church, 4025 N. Hartford Ave., will celebrate its 90th anniversary on Sunday with a day of activities, food and guest speakers. Events include the unveiling of a Wall of Fame at 8:30 a.m., worship services at 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. services with First Baptist Church North Tulsa as special guests.
Revival set: Ranch Acres Baptist Church, 3143 S. Jamestown Ave., will have a music-led revival with special guests Glory, Sweet Harmony, Don and Judy Earley and Forgiven Quartet at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. For more information, call 749-7758.
Breaking ground: Southminster Presbyterian Church, 3500 S. Peoria Ave., St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and Church of St. Giles will host a groundbreaking at 11 a.m. Sunday to begin construction of their new family
and community center.
Music therapy: Town and Country Christian Church, 1055 N. Garnett Road, will have Blue Grass Therapy with Barbara Smith at 9:15 a.m. Sunday. The church also will begin an “Overcomers” study group at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Israel talk: First United Methodist Church, 1115 S. Boulder Ave., will have guest speaker Clarence Wagner Jr. sharing “What is Happening in Israel These Days” at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
O.A.S.I.S. news: Kirk of The Hills Presbyterian, 4102 E. 61st St., will have a representative of O.A.S.I.S adult day-care center explaining the types of services provided at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Organ music: University United Methodist Church, 2915 E. Fifth St., will present organist Casey Cantwell in concert at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
Family reunion: Brookside Baptist Church, 3615 S. Peoria Ave., will have its 65th anniversary and “family reunion” from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. Also, a blessing of the bikes for the Christian Motorcycle Association is scheduled with music provided by 40 Days and the Kelly Spradlin Band.
