Somali Gunmen Fire at Aid Workers Injuring Two

Gunmen have opened fire at a vehicle carrying staff working for CARE International in Merka District injuring two of the staff. The vehicle was passing at Buulo Jaan neighbourhood in the district.
After the attack police forces led by the deputy police commander of Lower Shabeelle Region, Nuriye Ali Farah, attacked the area.
Police confronted with the militiamen and two other people have sustained injuries. Those injured are a woman and a child who were not involved in the fighting.
The fighting has stopped without intervention or mediation, but the sides are still at the scene of the clashes. [Passage omitted]
