StockerYale Announces the Addition of Speciality Optical Fiber to Its ISO-9001:2000 Certification; SOF Operations Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification

StockerYale, Inc. (NASDAQ: STKR), a leading independent provider of photonics-based products, today announced that its specialty optical fiber operation in Salem, New Hampshire achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification. The registration was granted by TUV as an addendum to the existing ISO certificate previously granted to the StockerYale illumination operation located at the Salem facility.

“This is a noteworthy accomplishment for StockerYale,” said Ricardo Diaz, chief operating officer. “The addition of our specialty optical fiber (SOF) operations validates the efforts that the Company continues to put forth to implement quality management systems that our customers have come to expect.” Diaz added, “With the Salem and Ireland facilities now in accordance with ISO 9001:2000, the Company will focus on preparing its Montreal facility for a planned ISO audit in March 2005.”

ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognized quality management system standard of the International Organization for Standardization. The ISO 9001 registration is recognized worldwide as a measurement of integrity concerning a company’s Quality Management System. The ISO 9001:2000 standard is designed to provide the basic framework and guidelines for companies to establish a foundation for consistent quality management to achieve customer satisfaction. The ISO 9001:2000 standard replaces the three former standards of the ISO 9000 family: ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003.
