Zoran Launches Next-Generation Integrated Print System(TM) 7.0 for Digital Printing Market

November 30, 2004

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Zoran Corporation announced the launch of its Integrated Print System (IPS) 7.0 software solution for OEMs of printers and multifunction peripherals. IPS 7.0 offers all of the leading page description languages (PDLs) in a platform that provides standard services used by color and monochrome peripheral products.

“Zoran is the only vendor that provides an integrated PDL solution that supports all widely adopted page description languages and offers source code access to our customers. Zoran OEMs are provided with a robust software solution that is more complete, compatible and flexible than competitive solutions,” said Simon Dolan, senior vice president and general manager, Zoran’s Imaging Division.

“In 2005 the color page printer market is projected to grow at an annual compound growth rate of 24 percent worldwide,” said Riley McNulty, research manager of hardcopy peripherals solutions and services at IDC, an industry analyst research firm. “Manufacturers require that their products offer better performance as well as compatibility with the latest versions of all print standards. Zoran is meeting this demand by advancing its Integrated Print System technology and offering its customers enhanced PDF and PCL XL compatibility.”

Zoran’s IPS 7.0 family of products introduces two upgraded interpreters, IPS/PDF5 and IPS/XLC. IPS/PDF5 fully supports PDF 1.5 and IPS/XLC offers improved Hewlett-Packard compatibility and streamlined development of product families that include both color and monochrome devices.

Zoran’s IPS 7.0 also includes an IPS/PS3 PostScript 3-compatible interpreter that offers enhanced image processing and efficient performance. Zoran’s IPS/FIVE provides a complete PCL 5 printing solution for color and monochrome peripheral products and full compatibility with Hewlett Packard’s PCL 5e and PCL 5C.

In addition to IPS software solutions and Quatro hardware solutions for All-In-One and multifunction printers, Zoran’s Imaging Division is also enabling the connecting of digital printers with digital cameras, DTVs, DVD players and other consumer electronic devices. Zoran’s “Connect & Share” vision is focused on delivering new product solutions that allow consumers to easily connect and share their personal content across all the electronic devices in their home
