Curt Jones, inventor of Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream, will attend the Grand Opening of the Campbells’ Queen Creek store Saturday, Sept. 22. The event will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 and will include face painting, a balloon artist, magician, contests, giveaways and free samples.

“This is the second of four new stores throughout the East Valley,” Tim Campbell said. The Campbells opened their first store at Gilbert Crossing in June. Additional stores are expected to open at Power and Brown in Mesa and at the Vista Del Oro Shopping Center in Gilbert.

Being Dippin’ Dots enthusiasts themselves, the Campbells have first-hand knowledge of the product’s appeal. “We had Dippin’ Dots about ten years ago on top of the World Trade Center in New York,” Tim said. “[We] have been addicted ever since.”

The Queen Creek location offers more than two-dozen flavors of Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream, Ice, Sherbet and Yogurt products. In addition, the store serves Dot Cakes, Dot Shakes, Floats and Solar Freeze(R) smoothies. The location also provides Dippin’ Dots for parties, fundraising and other events.

Dippin’ Dots(R) are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice. Invented in 1988 by microbiologist and entrepreneur Curt Jones, Dippin’ Dots(R) offers more than two-dozen different flavors, plus seasonal flavors. The company’s administrative and production headquarters are located in Paducah, Kentucky. Dippin’ Dots(R) are sold in 290 retail locations and thousands of entertainment venues and special events nationwide. The company’s Global division oversees licensees in nine countries.
