Prospero Technologies, LLC (Prospero.com), a provider of social media applications for leading brands, powers five of the 10 top-visited U.S. broadcast TV websites, according to a HitWise report published last month.
Prospero-powered sites topping HitWise's most-visited list include CBS's Big Brother (which holds nearly 30 percent of the total market share of visits) and Pirate Master; and FOX's America's Most Wanted, The Simpsons and So You Think You Can Dance. For its clients, Prospero offers an expanding suite of social media applications and services, including blogs, forums, widgets, wikis and moderation. For example, for CBS's Big Brother 8, Prospero powered the chat that appeared alongside four continuous video feeds from inside the house where the show is produced, allowing viewers to talk with each other while watching.
"As television networks increasingly look to the Internet to enhance their brand through online communities, we're thrilled to see 50 percent of the top-rated TV websites are powered by Prospero," said Rusty Williams, vice president of Prospero Technologies. "Our social media applications help these brands foster stronger relationships with viewers with configurable, fully integrated applications where consumers can post comments, submit ratings and participate in discussions."
In addition to enabling the technology platform for multiple social media applications, Prospero's Community Management Services provide moderation services and tools for all types of user generated content for brands like FOX, CBS, ESPN, GE and MSN.
