Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to Deploy Bivio's Network Appliance for Enterprise Multi-Purpose Sensing Platform
Posted on: Monday, 24 September 2007, 09:00 CDT
Bivio Networks, the leader in high-performance network appliance platforms enabling the deployment of wire-speed, deep packet processing applications, today announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) will deploy Bivio Networks' Bivio 2000 network appliance platform as its multi-functional sensor platform for the enterprise.
Built on the Bivio 2000 platform and leveraging its standard Linux execution environment, DISA's enterprise sensing appliance unites several organization network defense efforts by delivering a multi-function platform that radically increases network monitoring and security capabilities while completely eliminating the need and costs associated with multiple standalone solutions. In addition, the B2000 platform allows multiple custom as well as open source applications to reside and operate at wire speed on a single appliance.
"I am extremely pleased that DISA has chosen Bivio's network appliance platform for its enterprise class sensing technology in their ongoing efforts to provide valuable services to the Network Defense community in aiding them to combat network threats and dramatically improve Department of Defense network monitoring, analysis and security capabilities," said Elan Amir, CEO of Bivio.
"Today's networks are both application extensive and packet processing intensive, requiring a new class of powerful, flexible network devices to maximize performance. This adoption of our B2000 network appliance platform as its key multi-tier sensor is validation of Bivio Networks' ability to both meet and exceed the most stringent network appliance platform requirements. We are proud to support DISA in their ongoing mission of delivering best in class Information Assurance and Computer Network Defense capabilities to the war-fighter."
