PostPath Announces Performance Benchmark Results on Intel Servers

Posted on: Tuesday, 25 September 2007, 09:00 CDT

PostPath, creator of the highly interoperable PostPath Email and Collaboration Server, today released performance benchmarks showing exceptional results on a broad range of Intel-processor-based server systems.

In a large-scale soak test carried out with the widely used LoadSIM corporate email and collaboration benchmarking tool, the PostPath Server combined with a dual Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5355-based Server platform and a cost-effective, high--density, serial-ATA disk subsystem produced lightening-fast response times of just 0.04 seconds.

In a separate, smaller, 500-user LoadSIM test, the PostPath Server combined with a dual Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® Processor 5150-based Server platform and serial-SCSI disk subsystem produced outstanding response times of just 0.024 seconds.

These results show how the Linux-based PostPath Server and Intel's energy-efficient, high-performance processors enable both large and small corporate customers to maximize system responsiveness for their users. At the same time, customers can consolidate servers for improved server density and reduced administrative overhead, and use high-density, cost-effective commodity or commercial storage.

"Testing of PostPath's software with Intel processor-based servers has demonstrated that the two companies' products integrate to provide customers with high performance and operational efficiency," said Steve Erbst, vice president of sales and worldwide alliances at PostPath. "Many PostPath customers already deploy Intel processor-based servers, and our collaboration helps customers use their servers to their maximum potential."

"PostPath Email and Collaboration software has produced outstanding performance results on the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor-based server platform," says Steven Santamaria, director of global software enabling within the Intel Software and Solutions Group. "Intel works with innovative software companies like PostPath to ensure software runs great on Intel processor-based hardware."
