Airbee Makes ZigBee Building Automation a Reality; Airbee Showcases at ZigBee Open House in Seoul, Korea

Posted on: Monday, 6 December 2004, 06:00 CST

Airbee Wireless Inc. (OTC Other: ABEW), a leading provider of intelligent software for unwired voice, data and video networking, announced today that it will unveil a series of never-before-demonstrated building automation applications. Enhanced versions of the Airbee-ZMAC(TM) software for ZigBee networks will be introduced at the ZigBee Open House in Korea the week of December 6, 2004. Following on the tremendous success of three new products unveiling at the WiCon Americas Conference in November, Airbee will demonstrate even more ZigBee-ready unwired networking solutions that are further breakthroughs in the industry's first hardware-independent software products.

Airbee's unique solutions are engineered to interface with any microprocessor and IEEE 802.15.4 radio, including products by Texas Instruments, Chipcon, Atmel, Intel, Crossbow, Motorola and others. The compatibility of Airbee with these products also will be demonstrated at the ZigBee Open House in Seoul.

"The response and follow-up to our product releases at the WiCon Americas Conference, which many people continue to tell us stole the show, far and away exceeded our expectations. This more than validates our pioneering intelligent product portfolio and business model," said Raj Sundaresan, Airbee's CEO. "The ZigBee conference in Korea, home to some of the world's most innovative electronics companies, will showcase how Airbee's true unwired mesh networks for building automation can be controlled from the industry's first ZigBee network management system."

Airbee COO Gene Sharer added, "The demand for wireless sensor networking is increasing, largely due to anticipation for the increased reliability and scalability of the mesh networking technology Airbee is showcasing in Seoul." According to the recent independent research from ON World, forecasts anticipate 168 million nodes could be deployed in 2010 for an end user market worth $5.9 billion at this time.

Airbee's technology enables mesh networking, monitoring, and control of devices and sensors. With Airbee Unwired Networking(TM), end-user products for building automation communicate like never before, and are much more affordable.
