Cedar Point Communications Names Tim Hanson EVP, Worldwide Sales and Customer Service

Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated packet-based voice and multimedia switching technologies for the cable telecommunications industry, announced today the naming of cable and telecommunications veteran Tim Hanson as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Customer Service.

Hanson, who most recently had been a Partner in the Communications and High Tech unit of Accenture Ltd., will be responsible for Cedar Point's growing domestic and international sales activity, as well as for the development of worldwide support solutions for Cedar Point customers.

A 25 year veteran of the telecommunications marketplace, Hanson has extensive domestic and international wireline and cable expertise in such areas as Broadband Markets and Business Models; Sales and Marketing; Telecommunications Network Solutions; Business Development; and Information Technology. With Accenture, he served as Client Partner for several leading cable system operators and worked with such companies as Comcast, Time Warner, Charter Communications, UPC and AT&T Broadband.

Prior to joining Accenture, Hanson had been telecom marketing manager with Itron, a Spokane-based manufacturer of computer equipment. Previously, he held positions as software development manager for Northern Telecom, member of the technical staff with AT&T Bell Telephone Labs and software engineer with Western Electric. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of Maine, in Orono, ME, and an M.S. in Computer Science and Information Systems from Boston University. He is a member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).
