For Third Consecutive Quarter Siemens Tops World's DSL Revenue Share Ranking, According to Market Research Firm The Dell'Oro Group

Posted on: Wednesday, 8 December 2004, 09:00 CST

Siemens Subscriber Networks, Inc., an affiliate of Siemens Communications, Inc., each of whose ultimate parent is Siemens AG (NYSE: SI), today announced that The Dell'Oro Group's Quarterly Access Report for Q3 2004 has ranked Siemens first in digital subscriber line (DSL) worldwide revenue share for the third consecutive quarter.

Siemens' 16.3 percent share of global DSL customer premises equipment (CPE) revenues beat all other vendors of DSL CPE. In addition, Siemens tied with Thomson for global unit sales, with a 15.1 percent share. Regionally, Siemens was first in the North American market with a 40.5 percent unit share.

These rankings continue the market leadership in DSL CPE that Siemens established in 2002 with its SpeedStream(R) portfolio of residential and business-class DSL solutions including modems, gateways and routers, wireless and Integrated Access Devices (IADs).

With Siemens' broadband offerings that incorporate today's most advanced DSL technologies along with sophisticated deployment and management software, more than 60 major service providers throughout the world are able to bring both their residential and business customers DSL broadband solutions with greater functionality and flexibilility than previous generations of DSL CPE. What's more, Siemens' adherence to open standards, network interoperability and alliances with leading component vendors enables it to drive costs down so that service providers can maximize their profitability from every DSL circuit they deploy, boosting cash flow and return on investment.

According to Cliff Thompson, president of Siemens Subscriber Networks, Inc., The Dell'Oro Group's rankings are evidence that the two-fold broadband CPE strategy of Siemens is working. "On the one hand, we're driven to enhance DSL's economics and profitability for our service provider customers. At the same time, we're determined to help them make the broadband subscriber experience the very best it can be for their customers, whether they're at work, at home or anywhere in between."
