Royal Canadian Mint Replaces Legacy ERP Systems to Accommodate Significant Growth

Junction Solutions, a provider of vertical industry focused enterprise software and services based on the Microsoft platform, today announced that the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), Canada’s national mint, mandated to produce circulation coinage and manage the supporting distribution system, has successfully implemented JunctionMCR, a multi-channel retail solution to manage its business across multiple sales channels, integrate business processes and better serve customers. The RCM is one of several significant organizations that have selected JunctionMCR this year, including New York Mint, another provider of collectible coins and currency in the United States.

Founded in 1908, the RCM successfully operates under four principle lines of business — Canadian circulation coins, numismatic coins (collector coins and coin-related gifts), foreign circulation coins and bullion & refinery. In the past few years, the RCM’s continued strong focus on its customers and quality products has seen revenues double which has resulted in strong profitable growth.

In order to manage the current and anticipated growth, the RCM made the decision to replace their legacy ERP systems. After an extensive review of numerous software providers, the RCM chose JunctionMCR, a multi-channel retail system from Junction Solutions, Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP, and eBECS Lean Enterprise for Lean manufacturing. Based on solid experience and product knowledge, Deloitte Consulting was chosen to lead the integration project. Deloitte, with the support of both Junction Solutions and eBECS, worked to integrate these systems and leverage the RCM’s existing Microsoft technology stack which includes SQL Server, Windows Server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Commerce Server and Biztalk.
