Axis Communications has announced that as part of a project being undertaken by the Schweizerische Bundesbahnen in Switzerland, the company's network cameras will be installed to improve the public transport security.
Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB) has decided to install the newly announced Axis 209MFD network camera in double-decker commuter trains around Zurich to improve safety and security for passengers and personnel.
Network video has a number of key advantages compared with analog technology, offering higher image quality, cost-efficient installations, and easier access to stored material for security personnel as well as intelligent solutions.
Ray Mauritsson, president of Axis Communications, said: "Installations of network video solutions within the transportation segment have increased during the past few years and network video products from Axis have been installed in several demanding transportation environments. The new AXIS 209MFD network camera addresses the market's demand for video surveillance in locations where an ultra-compact solution is required."
