Global Bay, a provider of mobile information management applications, has teamed with IBM to deliver innovative solutions for the retail sector.

Global Bay has now successfully completed technology validation of its solution on the IBM Store Integration Framework–IBM’s flexible, scalable Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE), operating environment and componentized architecture, built for retail stores using IBM middleware.

Through this initiative, IBM works with select IBM Business Partners to validate solutions that meet a rigorous assessment of next-generation, open-standards-based store environments. The Ready for IBM Retail Store Innovations – Store Integration Framework initiative brings together platform-independent software vendors that deliver proven solutions designed and built for the retail industry.

The AccessPoint Mobile Information Management solution allows for the delivery of mobile applications better, cheaper and faster then any other vendor in the market. AccessPoint allows the full life cycle (creation, deployment, management and data analysis) of manual tasks, or processes, into an automated mobile application. This allows mobile workers to collect data and synchronize to the enterprise, allowing access to enterprise data at the Point of Capture. Applications in retail include line-busting, mobile point of sale, store audits, inspections and customer insights.
