Goodwill Industries and ReliaTech Team Up to Bridge the Digital Divide in San Francisco

ReliaTech and Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin Counties jointly announced today their partnership to offer affordable access to computer refurbishing and upgrade support for low-income families in San Francisco.

Goodwill offers quality refurbished computers at its downtown San Francisco store at 1580 Mission Street. Reliatech technicians provide reliable computer support for Goodwill computers and for any computers that customers want to bring. Services include free diagnostics and a “No-Fix, No-Fee” Guarantee.

“We see this partnership as an opportunity to help bridge the digital divide by offering high-quality tech support to San Franciscans,” said Barrie Hathaway, CEO of ReliaTech. “We are very excited about this partnership and we hope to be able to expand this program into other parts of the Bay Area.”

“We are so excited to partner with ReliaTech in our efforts to get high-quality computers and support for our Goodwill customers,” said Deborah Alvarez-Rodriguez, CEO of Goodwill, “We have we have 2.9 million lbs. of computers donated each year; a number of which can be refurbished. Now our customers who buy these refurbished computers can use ReliaTech’s affordable services to stay up-to-speed with technology in their professional and personal lives.”

ReliaTech and Goodwill Industries of San Francisco are both members of the City of San Francisco’s Digital Inclusion Initiative, which aims to more broadly empower people to use computers with Internet access, with a particular focus on low-income, limited English speaking, and disabled populations.

ReliaTech products, services and technicians are available at Goodwill’s 1580 Mission Street store six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
