SANRAD LDR Local Data Replication and Disaster Recovery Now Available

Posted on: Monday, 13 December 2004, 15:00 CST

SANRAD Incorporated, a leader in developing and delivering intelligent iSCSI IP SAN solutions, announced today the immediate availability of LDR - the first in a series of data replication and disaster recovery solutions for SANRAD-enabled IP SANs. It is available through SANRAD's broad network of storage networking VARs throughout the world.

SANRAD LDR enables campus-wide data replication and disaster recovery for multi-building/multi-site organizations such as military installations, universities, medical centers, local and state government and financial institutions, providing business continuity for any operation requiring uninterrupted access to data.

SANRAD's LDR combines both hardware and software and is easy to configure for continuous, real-time data mirroring as well as automatic failover in the event of site or system outage. For any IP SAN built around the SANRAD V-Switch, LDR continually mirrors critical data at 250MB/sec onto two to four separate storage systems physically located in separate buildings within a business complex or storage systems located in different areas in a large building. Moreover, a secondary active access point to the data can be provided by a V-Switch at the alternate site by attaching the V-Switch to the storage system and server network.

A comprehensive disaster recovery solution, SANRAD's LDR synchronously mirrors in real-time over existing optical or copper cables within a building or business complex. In a contained disaster, data from the remote target volume is automatically and instantly made available and accessible to the original application server or an alternate application server, thus ensuring 100% operational continuity for any organization. When the local site is functional again, SANRAD LDR, while remaining fully online, will resynchronize the local site with the data at the secondary site. All users and applications can then be redirected back to the local site.

SANRAD's solution scales license-free to support 256 servers, 64,000 volumes and up to 5.4 petabytes of capacity. SANRAD-based IP SANs including LDR are available now from SANRAD's qualified solution providers.
