Oct. 22–HIGH POINT — Planners will hear several rezoning requests Tuesday, including one that deals with a 23acre site along Mill Avenue that would house market showrooms, furniture-related retail and other uses.

The proposal by Cisco Properties LLC would transform thelight industrial and single-family area into a mixed-use development.

If rezoning was approved, the developer plans to refurbish three existing buildings on the site.

The first building — about 75,000 square feet — could be used for neighborhood retail uses, such as antique stores, photography studios and conveniencestores. The second building, which measures more than 150,000 square feet, would be turned into market showrooms and furniture-related retail and wholesale uses.

The third — a 19,430-square-foot building — would be used for businesses and professional services, such as government offices, accounting or engineering offices and restaurants without a drivethrough.

The High Point Planning andZoning Commission also will hear a request by Eastchester Park Partners LLC to rezone about 5.5 acres of property along the east side of Eastchester Drive. The site would be combined with another parcel to form a unified office development.

The final rezoning request comes from applicant Claire Wilson, who is asking the commission to rezone about a half-acre site along PennyRoad. The site would be used to provide parking for another development that has been proposed nearby.

The planning and zoning meeting will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers.
