Youtoo TV, The First Social Television Network, Debuts

September 27, 2011

Network Features Original Content from Television Magnate Mark Burnett and Online Network KoldCast TV

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 27, 2011

Production studio VIMBY (Video in My BackYard) and online distributor KoldCast TV are joining forces with Internet innovator Chris Wyatt to launch the nation’s first social TV network, Youtoo TV, which uses revolutionary technology to change the way Americans engage with TV. VIMBY, in affiliation with legendary producer Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Apprentice, The Voice), and KoldCast TV become original content providers for Youtoo’s initial launch.

Unlike standard social networking, where you interact with your friends and followers, Youtoo TV puts you in front of a national audience of 15 million through major cable providers including Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox, and Brighthouse. Youtoo will start by putting 500 people on TV each day – providing more Americans than ever before with a real shot at their “15 minutes of fame.” The videos, aptly called “Fame Spots,”™ can be recorded easily from an Apple or Android smart phone, tablet, or computer. In just a few clicks, anyone can upload their “Fame Spot” and be on TV for free.

Youtoo TV is the only television network in the U.S. providing its viewers with the opportunity to voice their opinions and share personal stories on TV. A unique hybrid, Youtoo is a technology company that owns and operates a TV network. Chris Wyatt, an Internet and TV innovator with more than 20 years of experience, launched the first social network, Communities.com. He went on to create Godtube.com, the fastest growing website of 2007 at launch, and continued to work to find the intersection of television and the Internet. “Youtoo is the realization of the vision that anyone can be on TV from anywhere. Even the name Youtoo TV literally means you too can be on TV,” says Wyatt.

Youtoo TV launches with a programming line-up that features television classic like The X Files, Batman, and Green Hornet, interactive programming like Say Yes & Marry Me, which will offer viewers the opportunity to propose marriage on-air via “Fame Spots”™, and original series like KoldCast Presents, a half-hour show showcasing ten original short-form series.

“Youtoo’s technology is wildly exciting – everybody wants to be on television, especially independent filmmaker’s, and Youtoo has opened the door and warmly welcomed them via KoldCast Presents. We are thrilled to be working with such an experienced team of professionals and we are confident that Youtoo has tapped a major industry artery at an important time in television,” said David S. Samuels, CEO of KoldCast Entertainment Media.

KoldCast Presents is KoldCast Entertainment Media’s first original series. It is executive produced by Samuels and producer Barry Gribble, and the show is hosted by Stuart Brazell (MSN’s Go See This Movie). KoldCast Presents features ten short-form series over its 26-episode run including: Red Carpet Run, Patrick Duffy and The Crab, Verse, Tyranny, Murder Squad, The Puzzle Maker’s Son, Hamilton Carver: Zombie PI, MacAwesome, and The Messenger Poet Show.

“The fact that 15 million people are now able to watch television’s Patrick Duffy (Dallas) engage in discussion with a giant crab is beyond anything we could have thought possible,” says Conor Duffy, creator of Patrick Duffy and The Crab.

Mark Burnett, through his company VIMBY, along with producer Mike Sears (Dinner and a Movie), is producing content for the network, calling viewers to interact with the content through Fame Spots™. “As a TV producer, I love nothing more than finding the next big thing. When I put Survivor on television, no one, including me, knew how popular reality television would become. Now, Youtoo is paving the way for social TV, which is the next generation of television,” says Burnett. Added Dean Waters, CEO of VIMBY, “As cultivators of skilled filmmakers from around the country, we are excited to be part of a new venture that takes creative empowerment to the viewers themselves and allows them to become part of the content.”

“Since millions of people want to be on TV, we have an app for that,” explains Chris Wyatt, CEO of Youtoo. “Think of it as Facebook meets TV. It’s the evolution of the social network. In addition to interacting with your friends and followers, you can be on national television and interact with millions of people. Log on to youtoo.com to see what it’s all about. ”
