Toshiba Announces New Thrive 7 Tablet
Toshiba announced its Thrive 7 tablet computer on Tuesday, becoming another company trying to put out their product in time for the holidays.
The device features a 7-inch screen and runs on Tegra 2. It comes equipped with both a 5 megapixel and 2 megapixel camera.It runs Android Honeycomb 3.2 and has a 1280-by-800-pixel display.
Toshiba was not the only company to announce a new tablet this week.
Amazon announced its new Kindle Fire tablet computer on Wednesday with a price tag of $199.
The device offers Wi-Fi connectivity only and comes with a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, which is the company´s $79-a-year membership service to stream video.
Tech companies are hoping the holiday season will boost itself to become a better competitor against Apple Inc.'s iPad, which currently controls about 68 percent of the market around the world.
