Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 Available: 450 Percent Faster Scans And Especially Low Resource Consumption

October 6, 2011

SALZBURG, Austria, Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The sixth generation of the Windows protection software Emsisoft Anti-Malware has now been released. It has the clear potential to operate almost unnoticeably to the user while offering the best possible protection. To achieve this, a number of powerful new features have been introduced:

About 450 percent faster scans: Over the last two years the Emsisoft developers have pulled out all the stops to significantly increase the security software’s speed. The dual scanner engine has been completely rewritten and the new version makes optimum use of multi-core systems.

Lower resource consumption: Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 uses significantly fewer resources than earlier versions. This is complemented by an Advanced Caching System that self optimizes and becomes faster with every scan. The final result is that Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 has almost no effect on the performance of one’s PC.

Improved Rootkit detection: Rootkit detection has been further optimized in Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6. It now detects classical file-based Rootkits such as TDL-3 and ZeroAccess and also the increasingly prevalent MBR (hard drive boot sector) infectors such as TDL-4 and Sinowal.

Very few false alerts: Nothing is more irritating for the users than false alerts. The new Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 uses an internal analysis system to significantly reduce false alerts.

Permanent free license: Emsisoft now uses a simple key-based system. Additionally long-term customers now receive a bonus; license renewal will be 5 percent cheaper each year. Even better: Users who recruit new users can take part in a reward program and receive a license extension free of charge.

Emsisoft General Manager Christian Mairoll: “A core idea in the development of Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6 was to significantly increase the speed while retaining our outstanding detection rate. Security programs often consume too many system resources and make computers noticeably slower. With our system this is no longer the case.”
