Apple Sells Over A Million iPhone 4S Devices In 24 Hours
Apple Inc. announced on Monday that it had sold over a million iPhone 4S devices during the first 24-hours of pre-orders.
The company has broken its own record for pre-orders of its iPhone 4 model, 600,000 of which were sold in a single day.
“We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S,” Philip Schiller, Apple´s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said in a press release.
“The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.”
The new device by Apple was announced on October 4, just a day before the company's co-founder Steve Jobs passed away from battling cancer for 7 years.
The iPhone 4S features a dual-core A5 chip, an 8-megapixel camera and full 1080p high-definition video recording.
The phone will be available at Apple retail stores on October 14.
