October 17, 2011

WOONSOCKET, R.I., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — CVS/pharmacy announced today that Social Network Connectivity is now available at all CVS/pharmacy Photo Centers with KODAK Picture Kiosks. Effective immediately, customers can visit their local CVS/pharmacy Photo Center to access and print their photos or access their friends’ photos directly from FACEBOOK at the KODAK Picture Kiosk. This new feature allows CVS/pharmacy customers to print images directly from FACEBOOK without bringing a digital camera, USB drive or smartcard into the store. With almost 140 billion photos stored on FACEBOOK and nearly 200 million more uploaded every day(1), CVS/pharmacy customers now have another convenient, easy-to-use way to print images and create keepsakes in a matter of minutes.

“At CVS/pharmacy, we are committed to offering photo services that make our customers’ lives easier,” said Grant Pill, vice president of Store Brands and Photo, CVS/pharmacy. “With the launch of this new feature, CVS/pharmacy customers now have two powerful options for printing photos directly from FACEBOOK: they can select images from their FACEBOOK albums and their friends’ albums in-store through the KODAK Picture Kiosks; or they can send images right from FACEBOOK, through the CVS Express Photo App on FACEBOOK, and then pick them up at their local CVS/pharmacy in about an hour.”

In addition to prints, the new in-store FACEBOOK application allows consumers to share their favorite memories with their closest friends with personalized photo books, calendars or other premium photo products created right at the KODAK Picture Kiosk. Consumers will find the “Connect and Print from FACEBOOK pages” icon easily on the Kiosk home screen, and on the Kiosk’s onscreen keyboard which now features dedicated “@” and “.com” keys; simplifying online site access.

“As more and more people upload and share photos through FACEBOOK, we recognize that consumers want to do more with those photos. CVS/pharmacy and Kodak are making it possible to put memories back in customers’ hands so they’re no longer trapped online,” said Larry Trevarthen, vice president of worldwide marketing, Retail Systems Solutions, Eastman Kodak Company. “We are thrilled to partner with CVS/pharmacy to help FACEBOOK users and CVS/pharmacy customers free their photos.”

Now through October 23, customers can try the service for free by participating in the “Free Print Week” promotion accessible through the CVS/pharmacy FACEBOOK fan page, at http://www.facebook.com/CVS. All customers who “Like” CVS/pharmacy on FACEBOOK can print a coupon pass redeemable for twenty (20) free 4×6 prints from any FACEBOOK-enabled KODAK Picture Kiosk location.
