Christie® Selects Digital Video Enterprises, Inc. for Executive Telepresence
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Christie, has selected the DVE Huddle 70 for executive telepresence between Christie’s Headquarters. The DVE Huddle 70 is the flagship product of Digital Video Enterprises for corporate wide telepresence for small and mid-size meetings rooms. The DVE Huddle 70 solution was selected because of its unique eye contact capabilities. DVE optically embeds the camera behind the large image for perfect eye contact while conferencing. This approach overcomes the lack of true eye contact with legacy videoconferencing/telepresence systems that have misaligned cameras mounted on top of the display.
Christie deployed the Huddle 70 solution to improve communication among key executive leaders who insisted on the most life-like and realistic telepresence experience possible. Christie’s executive leaders are now able to communicate between North American Headquarters in a way so realistic it is as if they are sitting across the table face-to-face and eye-to-eye. Further, the system smartly integrates multi-site capabilities and data collaboration.
European CEO Magazine has recognized DVE with the “Telepresence Innovator of the Year Award.” The award was determined by a vote of thousands of the executive subscribers of the magazine. Christie’s President and COO Jack Kline also recognized the superior experience of the DVE Huddle 70 telepresence solution.
Steve McNelley, Co-Founder of DVE, said “We are pleased that Christie has selected the DVE Huddle 70 for its Executive Telepresence deployment. This deployment is a perfect complement to our years of collaboration with Christie. Christie Projectors are utilized by DVE around the globe for event conferencing and permanent installations for our business, education, and government clients.”
The Huddle 70 is a turnkey telepresence solution designed to quickly retrofit any small meeting room into a telepresence suite. The Huddle 70 includes a boardroom quality table shaped to match the geometry of the camera perspective. Further, the DVE Huddle 70 is the industry’s first true green LED solution with energy efficient LED displays and LED room lights. The Huddle also provides a unique zero frame image so people do not appear to be in a TV box frame while conferencing which further aids in the natural conversational experience.
