Carrington College® California Expands Programs in Business and Accounting

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Carrington College® California, a part of DeVry Inc., a global provider of educational services, has announced that associate degree programs in business and accounting will be offered at select campuses including Citrus Heights, Pleasant Hill, San Jose and San Leandro. Programs in the business field focus on developing an understanding of economics, finance, human resources, management and sales, through hands-on classroom curriculum and real world experiences. In a culminating capstone project, accounting students exercise knowledge gained throughout the coursework to complete a financial analysis of a proposed merger by preparing budgets and reports. Students in the business program are tasked with designing a complete business plan and implementation timeline for a new company. These programs were previously offered only in an online capacity and will now be available at select campuses.

Carrington College California prepares students to succeed in competitive and professional environments through a well-rounded education that focuses on strategic communication, critical thinking and computer proficiency and offers insight into a range of industries. Associate degree programs consist of 22 courses that are offered year-round and provide flexible class schedules.

Although U.S. unemployment numbers hover at a national average of 9.1 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates favorable to excellent job growth projections for careers in business and accounting.
