Devolutions Launches Password Vault Manager to Help Users Protect Passwords and Other Sensitive Data

October 28, 2011

Password Vault Manager helps users store and manage sensitive data, while minimizing the security risks of sharing documents.

(PRWEB) October 28, 2011

Devolutions, a Canadian-based enterprise software development firm with more than 125,000 users in over 60 countries, announced today the launch of Password Vault Manager: a solution that allows users to safely guard passwords, credit card numbers, bank account information, serial numbers, alarm codes and other sensitive data.

In addition to being a convenient password manager for anyone working with multiple accounts and credentials, Password Vault Manager is also ideal for users who store sensitive data in spreadsheets and other documents. Now, with Password Vault Manager, users can rest easy knowing that team members will only see the information they should â“ and none of the confidential data they shouldnât.

âœPassword Vault Manager is an essential first step for anyone who wants simple and secure password management,â commented Devolutionsâ CEO and founder David Hervieux. âœItâs also perfect for small businesses that want a robust and affordable solution for their in-house, on-site and remote teams. And because Password Vault Manager is based on the same technology, security, performance and flexibility as our flagship product Remote Desktop Manager â“ which has more than 125,000 users in 60 countries â“ users can be assured that itâs a reliable and thoroughly tested solution.â

Password Vault manager is available in two editions: Standard and Professional. The Standard edition is free for personal and business use. The Professional edition is $19.99, and offers enhanced features such as:

  • the ability to share data entries between multiple users
  • advanced data source support for sources like Remote Desktop Manager Online, Amazon S3 hosting, Dropbox, FTP and more
  • an attachment function to include diagrams, agreements, and more
  • a database connection log to track all actions

Both the Standard and Professional editions integrate an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm to protect both local files and sensitive data in the Devolutions database. The company uses a mix of its own private key and a master password (passphrase) to create a strong encryption key (256-bit key). This level of security is approved for Top Secret status by the US National Security Agency.

A 30-day free trial version of Password Vault Manager is available here. The product is also customizable to fit the needs of each user or business.
