Dad Blog Declares War on Hunger and Boredom, Launches Giving For Good Campaign
NORTHAMPTON, Mass., Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Every family should have food and fun this holiday season. That has become the rallying call of DadDoes.Com, and today they announce their “Dad Does Giving For Good Giveaway,” a very special campaign to help families in need have food and toys for this holiday season.
The Dad Does Giving For Good Giveaway will run from 11/16/11 – 12/7/11 at 2pm EST. There are three parts to the giveaway. First, seventeen of the most popular toys of 2011, over $800 in value, will be randomly awarded to readers on 12/7/11. Second, another set of the same seventeen toys will be donated to the Today Show Toy Drive for families in need. Finally, for every person who leaves a comment on the post, DadDoes.Com will donate $1 to the Western Massachusetts Food Bank (up to a maximum of $1,000). In total, over $2,500 in cash and toys will be given away.
While it is common for product review blogs to offer toy giveaways for their readers around the holidays, DadDoes.Com wanted to do something different. The Giving For Good campaign gives readers a chance to win the best holiday toys for 2011, and guarantees that some families in need will also receive these fun toys.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the Giving For Good Giveaway. We are a small blog trying to make a difference for some families this holiday season. It feels fantastic to provide some of the most popular holiday toys to kids in need this year. In addition, providing up to $1,000 to the Western Massachusetts Food Bank fulfills our dream that every family should enjoy food and fun for the holidays,” states Dan Nessel, founder of DadDoes.Com.
DadDoes.Com does hands-on testing of every product it reviews. After doing hundreds of toy reviews, they selected their favorite toys to include in this giveaway. Manufacturers were kind enough to provide toys for both the reader and charity giveaway.
Companies that donated for the giveaway include: Air Hogs, Interactive Toy Concepts, Mattel Hot Wheels, Jakks Pacific, Hasbro, Folkmanis, Djubi, Big Time Toys, I Love Robots, Xploderz, The Young Scientists Club and McNeill Designs.
The Dad Does Outsider’s Gift Guide to the Top Toys of 2011 provides a list of the best toys that DadDoes.Com reviewed in 2011. Categories for top toys include: Best Toys For When You Need to Shoot Someone or Something; Best Driving, Racing and Crashing Toys of 2011; Video Games and Interactive Toys Infused With Fantastic Fun; No Tech Toys Filled With Fun…Not Batteries; Terrific Toys For Inquisitive Kids Who Love Science; and Top Toys For Kids Who Love to Fly Things.
With just over 5 weeks until Christmas, DadDoes.Com is busy reviewing toys and looking for companies to participate in their Giving For Good Giveaway. Toy companies are encouraged to contact DadDoes.Com to find out about taking part in the giveaway and toy guide.
Nessel concludes, “It may not be a huge donation of money and toys, but we are excited to show that a small blog can make a difference when it comes to providing food and fun to families in need. If anyone would like to join us in our efforts, contact us and let’s work together to make this a better holiday season for families in need.”
