Consumer Electronics Brands on Shopatron Achieve Double-Digit Growth in 2011
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Shopatron reported today that consumer electronics brands using the company’s eCommerce platform have seen significant online sales growth in 2011, averaging 49% same-store sales increases per quarter in the first three quarters of the year. Q4 sales are also projected to significantly surpass 2010 numbers, given strong sales over the post-Thanksgiving sales weekend.
The significant growth of online sales for Shopatron electronics brands is no surprise, with the continuing trend toward buying consumer electronics online. According to the Consumer Electronics Association (ce.org), nearly half (46%) of the people who bought electronics over the Black Friday weekend made their purchase online. CE brands using Shopatron’s eCommerce platform saw their number of online orders increase 79% on Thanksgiving, 62% on Black Friday and 53% on Cyber Monday over the same days last holiday season.
“Consumer electronics is a very brand-driven industry and shoppers are looking for their preferred brands online,” says Shopatron SVP of Marketing, Mark Grondin. “Shopatron’s unique, retail-integrated eCommerce solution helps brands turn those online shoppers into customers by allowing them to buy directly on the brand site, without alienating their retail partners. As you can see from the numbers, this has been a very successful strategy for our clients.”
Shopatron also launched five additional consumer electronics brands in 2011–Klipsch, Living Sounds Audio, Marshall Electronics, Focal America and Atlantic Technology–bringing the total number of CE brands using the platform to over 20.
“CE brands love Shopatron because we are not just a standard eCommerce solution,” adds Grondin. “Orders completed on a client’s website are passed to one of the brand’s retailers for delivery to the customer. Coupling an online sale with a local retailer who can further support the buyer with delivery, installation and ongoing service is a huge value–one that no other eCommerce platform offers.”
CE retailer participation in Shopatron’s order fulfillment exchange is also on the rise. The number of retailers signed up to fulfill orders for CE brands on Shopatron increased 69% from the beginning of the year to 1,100.
Shopatron will be visiting with client and prospective brands and retailers at January’s International Consumer Electronics Show. Contact Sales Associate, Ryan Kirkpatrick at 805-269-5170 or email email@example.com to set up a time to meet at the show.
