For the youth generation of the 80s, the classic Atari, Inc. symbol represents a time of virtual gaming fantasy — a Golden Age of Arcade Games where the beeps and signals of a triangle-shaped spaceship dodged and shot at flying asteroids in a force field that sometimes seemed impossible to escape without being pelted, sending the vessel spinning out of control. Now, Atari is known as a global leader in the games industry, thanks to founder, American engineer and entrepreneur, Nolan K. Bushnell, who recently joined the advisory board of Savtira Corporation, a new B2B cloud commerce solutions company.

“Mr. Bushnell will be an invaluable member to our advisory board,” says Savtira CEO, Timothy Roberts. “His work has left a legacy for generations. Not only is he a technological guru, but he is an entrepreneurial leader. We are incredibly humbled and honored to have him serve on Savtira´s advisory board.”

Bushnell is known as the founder of Atari, Inc. as well as the Chuck E. Cheese´s Pizza-Time Theaters chain. He was inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame and the Consumer Electronics Association Hall of Fame, received the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Fellowship, and the Nation´s Restaurant News, “Innovator of the Year” award. Bushnell was also named one of Newsweek´s, “50 Men Who Changed America.” Bushnell has started more than 20 companies and is considered one of the founding fathers of the video game industry.

Bushnell sold Atari to Warner Communications (now Time Warner) for $28 million in the late 70s. Around the same time, Bushnell purchased Pizza Time Theater from Warner Communications as a place where children could eat pizza and play video games, which would therefore function as a distribution channel for Atari games. The Chuck E. Cheese brand is now owned by ShowBiz Pizza, which currently operates more than 500 locations. Bushnell now serves as co-founder and chief game designer of Anti-Aging Games, a website of games designed to stimulate the brain.

“It has been my life´s work to create and incubate ideas into reality. I am passionate about innovation and I see the prestige and potential in Savtira Corporation,” says Bushnell. “I wish to share and educate other entrepreneurs from the mistakes I´ve made to the successes I´ve had. I have the opportunity to do so in becoming an advisory board member with Savtira and I look forward to the new journey with fellow pioneers.”
