My favorite thing about CES is seeing some of the little things that do not get much press, and one of those at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show is Samsung’s transparent LCD monitor.

The monitor is built for those who are energy conscience, or those who are inflicted with the “latest and greatest disease.”

The monitor has a 1680×1050 resolution and comes equipped with an HDMI interface.

Its transparency is 15 percent and it is 22mm thick on the side with a weight of 1.7 pounds.

The monitor is just one of many energy efficient things Samsung is showing off this year at CES.

The company also displayed an eco-friendly LED television that saves 13 percent energy per year.

The ES7500 by Samsung is able to utilize apps built for its Media Hub and its eco-friendly LED backlight contains no mercury.

The television also has an eco light sensor to help users automatically control screen brightness.

Check out a video of the transparent LCD monitor, as well as photos, here on redOrbit.
