Vision Monitoring, a UL-Listed central station monitoring facility and division of World Wide Security, has gone to live monitoring with Cottage Pharmacy, Woodbury, N.Y. The owners of Cottage Pharmacy, decided to have the extra layer of security after the increase in violent pharmacy robberies by drug addicts seeking prescription drugs. The rise in crime, targeting pharmacies, has everyone concerned for safety. World Wide Security, through its Dart Security division, recently completed a total overhaul of the pharmacy´s security technology. “We installed approximately 30 cameras and 11 holdup buttons throughout the pharmacy,” explained Ben Cirlincione, General Manager.
It comes as no secret pharmacies are being targeted by addicts desperate for prescription drugs; task forces are being formed and business owners are reacting to protect employees and patrons. World Wide, through its on-site central station, oversees the security protocols for 20-pharmacies on Long Island, having the ability to provide a tailored approach to security through a live video feed has given Cottage Pharmacy greater peace-of-mind during this very anxious time. “Going live is a service we provide many businesses during their time of need. Our live ℠look-in´ service, called iVision 24, will immediately pull up cameras in the pharmacy when a holdup button gets pushed. Our specialty trained life safety operators, monitoring the situation, have law enforcement experience and will work with the police to provide guidance into the situation. This technology will give live intelligence of any event to the police. This technology saves lives through a real time sequence of events,” explained Ken Mara, President and CEO of World Wide Security.
